Is it safe to keep two BD pups with a small group of Geophagus?
Stingrays are 5-6 inches.

I just want to get them used to some company in the tank.

I mean can the Geophagus hurt the rays? Iknow that the otherway around it is possible =)

thx

They'll be totally fine mate, no problem at all. I've had several pups, BD and hystrix with geophagus over the past couple of years with zero problems.

Im thinking about getting some Geophagus tomorrow that is just above 4 inches big. Im afraid that bigger Geophagus can hurt the stingrays. Or is it nothing to worry about?

thx again for quick reply =)

Geos will be okay on the rays but the rays stand a good chance of taking down the Geos as they grow
I have lost a fair few Geos to bigger rays and have given up trying the combo now as the rays are too big

I agree with Jim. I can only keep geos with pups. I have 5 orange heads with a BD litter. I started with 10 from a previous litter. Even the pups are able to get the geos when they are small (<3"). The tapajo's now breed regularly and all is well for the moment. I would not expect any geos to make it overnight in any of the adult tanks.
