I need help if I should be worried about seeing my tig end up dead the next day... My BD is aleast 5"-6" disc and my tig is also 5"-6", sometimes my BD will try to attack my tig, trying to eat it I believe and I'm worried to see such a expensive fish dying.. My 3 bar dat is 3" and the BD does not attack it at all, it happened aleast once a week during feeding. Note* the tig has a place to hide and will be having another BD next month

Only a matter of time, from looking at that clip; but I know very, very little about rays, so be interested to hear expert opinion

Unless you move the tig to another tank it looks like you just might wind up posting about it on that thread about fish that were killed by rays.

Separate the tig for a little bit and power feed it, they grow very fast. Once it is bigger than your Ray you will not have any problems. I have a tig with my rays and they get along great.

I'm afraid you're going to have to sell the Ray so you don't lose another tig.

Should I pick up the Ray tomorrow or this evening?;)

I'm wondering if bare bottom has something to do with it. I have a female who could easily chow one of the little severum in her tank. She occasionally does the attempt, you know trying to go over the top but she has never pinned and killed her yet. She doesn't go after it nearly as aggressively as your male seems to, but my theory comes off of the fact that we have different substrates. When my rays want food they sift the sand like crazy, it's one of the few things my big fem actually does because she's a fatty. If she isn't eating or in a food coma then she's probably sifting, and she still hasn't snacked that severum. Obviously different factors are at play, being that the severum doesn't frequently share space or sleep towards the bottom. Rays obviously come with all kinds of different personalities so trying to pinpoint care doesn't work as well. Plenty of people have succeeded though.

Ray might think its streamers is a worm? Problem solved once streamers are gone :( LOL
