Hi all,

I'm exploring options for my new tank that I'd like to house stingrays in. In the past I've kept motoros and hystrix rays, but would like to go with black rays this time around. It looks like Leos and Henleis are now things of the past, but I've stumbled across various vendors offering black diamond rays and super white cross. I love the look of the larger white spots. I'd like to continue researching before purchasing my rays, and of course I have to wait for my new tank to cycle. What are mature sizes for BD and SWC rays? Are one of these hardier or easier to keep than the other? How do they compare to the hardiness of a motoro? I'd also like to know if rays in the 8-9" range are easier to keep than smaller pups, keeping in mind that whatever I bought would likely need to be shipped to me. Thanks all!

SWC are high quality BD hybrids
both will get to the same size as Leo that are essentially lower grade BD
BD are bullet proof so long as water is kept in check so no different to any other mainstream ray
And yes a 8” plus are easier to keep than pups as the hard work has been done regards getting onto larger food types and preferably pellets and can also be mixed with larger rays once they have hit 8”

But having said that a pup is also easy so long as you are prepared to work a little harder plus far more rewarding
