Be careful around breeding Dovi

My pair have babies, and while cleaning up the area I received a little nip from my male dovi, you can see the scratch on the top and the puncture wound on the botoom of my finger. Quite a bit of blood, but cleaned it up and had my son snap the picture. Dovi do not enjoy hands in their tank when they have fry.

i get bit evertime i try to feed my fire eel. it hurts. :nilly:
 
Lol, i have 4 smaller ones im planning on growing 1 out. So far the biggest one is totally terrorizing the other 3 and hes only maybe 2 inches long!
 
I had a 15" male nic. dovii and he has got me about 4 times during water changes always drew good blood. I used to do water changes with python in one hand and net or algae scrapper in other and had to pay attention to his whereabouts at all time. very sneaky, i 'd rap him with net numerous times when he would try to get me , but was not deterent and he would not give a f**k and always come right back. I loved that fish and will get another one nic male eventually.
 
Haha! We all have the "dovii stories!"

I broke my hand last year. Two weeks later, guess which hand my male dovii grabbed a hold off? I was just leaning it on the tank while using the other hand to control the siphon tube. Hurt like $%&@!
