I got (2) Jaguar cats about a little over 3 inches. What I like about this catfish is it looks very good, they also have cool looking faces and mouths. They look like little mean catfish. The bad thing is, they are VERY nocturnal and very shy. For about 2 weeks, they would hide and not move at all, they would stay still as if they were rocks. I would put a sinking pellet as close as I could to them, or as close to their mouth as I could get. And they would remain still the whole time. So I would just drop 2 pellets each over night and in the morning they would be gone and their bellies looked like they had food in it.

For the 1st time tonight they ate in front of me. Im pretty happy about it. I dropped 5 pellets by them for both to share. As soon as they landed, one of them gulped 2 of them immediately. Then he saw the other three pellets and shoveled those in too. He looked like a little savage gobbling those pellets down. Im suprised that at its size it put away 5 pellets that easy. So the other one didnt get one bite so I dropped 5 more right by him, and he gobbled them down too. So I am pretty happy to see them eat. Im really hoping they become less shy and will eat in the day time eventually. Some people have managed to train them to do so.

Nice accomplishment, gotta love it when things work out huh :)
Keep up the good work, keep us posted

Yeah Im breeeding Cherry shrimp. When I get a good amount I am gonna start dropping some in at night, or maybe even during the day and I might record them hunting the shrimp. But I was figuring since they are small, and very nocturnal and also the fact that my jaguars are wild caught, they would be extremely shy. But they are starting to get more comfortable.

Very nice looking cats but they are shy and very nocturnal.
