Well it has happend again. I have another huge cloud of over 1000 beani fry, from this second spawn. The fry became free swimming on Friday, and this time have the whole tank to themselves. First batch is growing but there are only about 30-50 fry. I had taken out most of them, from the breeding tank, and had a bad heater, wich cost me the majority of the spawn, and the 30-50 fry are what I had left with the parents. It's mid 80'F in L.A. today, so I don't have to worry about freezing the fry, although I do have a new, and much better heater for them. This time I will be leving the fry with parents for about 2 monthes, so I can get a quicker growing spawn. Or keep them with the parents for as long as possible. Anyway beani should be very plentiful soon, as I know Jeff Rapps has some, and may have set aside a pair or 2?? And Don Conkel has some of the wild stock brought back by me and someone else. F1, "green" Beani are coming!
