Bearded algae

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you can drain the tank below the algae you can spray it with some hydrogen peroxide. It will kill it and when the HP degrades it turns into water and oxygen. Just don't use to much at once and don't get any directly on any animals.
There's a bunch of videos on YouTube about how to do it. I have tried it myself and it works well

Sae's will eat the stuff like no tomorrow. Same with otocinclus too. Mollies will also pick at it as well.

If you have space in the tank get some sort of cleanup crew. Also check your lighting, I've found the bba really thrives under really strong lights that have a long time of being on vs off.
