Hey guys, I was considering adopting an about 10" bearded dragon. The only thing really stopping me is the fact that I'm currently in college and will be living in a frat house next year. What are your guy's thoughts on this? Thanks.

The only thing I would be concerned with is that generally college guys are immature by nature and may do something to harm the dragon. Granted I don't personally know these guys and I don't like to stereotype, but i'm sure you get my point. Not to mention, i'm sure you will have parties where people who you don't even know will show up. I've been to my share of frat parties when I was in college and i've seen drunk people do really messed up stuff and i'd hate to see a beardie get hurt or killed.

If you put the beardie's enclosure in a part of the house where no one else is permitted, it may work....but I definitely think you should think this through and see your living arrangements before committing to any animal. Good luck.

I agree u if u cld get it somewhere u cld keep people out for sure. Then u may be ok.

You guys make good points. I was originally planning on building the cage into a bar but I'm not sure how well that would work. I need to talk to the house manager I think I might have a extra closet/room along with my main room. If so I could put it in there and lock the room during parties.

If you're building your own enclosure, make sure you have a tough locking mechanism to stop other people getting into the tank or messing with the dragon. I've heard messed up stories of roomate arguements aswell as drunken disasters, where an animal gets hurt.
