Bearded dragon queries

I'm going on vacation in a few days and I would please like to know for how long can I leave my dragons without food? They are still small and currently they are only eating plant materials. Also is it true that their tails will fall off like with other lizzards like those you can catch at home?

I have heard of one Bearded Dragon keeper have a bowl and a automatic feeder filled with beardie pellets... however I never seen those pellets before.
 
How come you are looking after them for a friend? Just seems odd that you're going on vacation after you agreed to babysit.
 
Well when I go on vacation, I always have someone look after my pets. How long are you going to be away for? Your lizards could probably go a week or more without food, but they need to stay hydrated. I'd find someone to stop in every couple of days to feed and give them water.
 
It is kind of weird, we have someone that's suppose to look after them its just hard to get hold of him. I'm going away for 4-5 days and my friend's gone for two weeks. I'm just keeping them for the time being until I can get hold of the other guy.
 
Ah, just find someone to be your temp. Keep reaching the person that is suppose to assume the job, if he doesn't show up... have the temp come in.
