I'm getting a bearded dragon next year ( better to plan ahead right? )
I'm building my own fish tank stand and I plan on building the viv under the tank.

If the viv is under the tank i'm going to need filter space which will be under the tank also. My question is will 100cm by 45cm by 60cm ( high ) be big enough for an adult bearded dragon? Because i'm building it myself the extra hight means I can add another level to the tank thus increasing floor space, I thought maybe basking area on top like a cool beardie sun deck.

One problem I have thought about is the tipping weight of the tank and viv, the wood is going to be thick and very well made but The tank will be ... 40cm higher than it is now.

What if I added extra depth and width to the stand so it has say an inch gap around the tank for more stability?

I like the hight idea since my glass computer desk will be seamless to the tank from the view from my bed.

Tell me what you think?

I am also planning on buying a bearded dragon after I set up a stand and am just now building the stand. The tank is 6' (almost 2m) x 18" (45 cm) x 18" (45 cm) or a 100g tank (400L). I was worried my tank might be too narrow as well. I will be interested in what others with experience might say.

What kind of filtration are you planning on using? I was just going to use sand and a water dish. What kind of UV light are you going to use? I have heard that mega rays are a good brand.
