ok, i have a 15inch juvinile female bearded dragon and i want to get her used to sand, she has been on repti carpet her whole life, i put calci sand 3 months ago and she couldent get enough of it, any tips on making her a sand beardy?

First thing. Get off the calci sand. Useless and impaction causing.

ya go zoo med repti sand, the particles are finer so less risk for impaction. and dont just do partial sand do it all at once. and btw at 9 months she is a small adult, at 12 months they are breeding age

Save yourself the money and go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy play sand. It's safer and much cheaper than the stuff they sell at pet stores.

haha i already have 100 pounds of play sand. but i wasnt sure of the exact measurment it was around 15 and im pretty sure its still unsafe to breed at 12 months, its better around 18 months

yes, but what i meant was they are sexually mature and are considered adults at 12 months. ya if you can go playsand, the only reason i like repti sand is because of the colors

hmm true ok well maybe today ill try to put the playsand in... hopefully she dooesent eat it...and im starting to think its a male... im not 100% sure .. and tips btw on putting the dragon in the cagE? because i dont want her to eat the sand rite away.if the beardy decides to eat it

I agree, play sand is the best way to go. Cheap and safe.
