waddup guys
my heat lamps are on crack or something.. and arent putting out enough energy. so my basking spot for my bearded is at 90. is this temp fine for basking?
well i had this problem a while back when i had a beared dragon the problem for me wasnt the bulbs it was the lamp go and take that one back if you can and get a new one
if your buying your bulbs from petsmart some times i got faluty bulbs from there so that might be it to
and also you dont realy haVE A fine line for basking but i keept my temps around 92-95 and just make sure you are filling up the water dish because the evaperation can happen quick
You should have it hotter than that. It should be between 100 and 105 for the basking spot and around 80 on the cool side. It has to stay this hot because that's how the BD digests its food. At night the temps can drop into the 60's but make sure that it has the heat lamp on for at least 3 hours after eating otherwise the food could rot in the animals stomach.
thanks for all your help guys. another question. i got my male sub-adult beardie saturday at an expo. and he seems to be a finniky eater. how can i get him to overcome that? he only eats a little. and not often. i cant get him to eat crickets or vegies either just superworms.
Try to stay away from superworms till there adults cuz the hard exoskeleton is hard for them to digest and can cause impaction. Beardies go through a phase where they wont eat for a week or so when the change environments, so don't worry about it.
