Can anyone explain this behavior for a bearded dragon? Is it normal?

Ok so recently he has been butting his head on the pexiglass to come out. As soon as i open the door he races out of his enclosure and then goes and hides in a corner? I replaced his lights a few months ago and temp seems fine. Im not sure what is up, he eats a lot more food and poops more then normal. Any ideas? I wanna say he is pushing 12 inchs.

sounds normal to me. hes probably not butting his head. lizards dont understand the concept of glass, so what looks like head butting is probably just him wanting to walk through the glass. i wouldnt worry about it as long as he is eating fine

sometimes they can see their reflection in the glass and it will stress them out a bit and make them act differently. that may be it but it is difficult to say really. so long as he looks healthy though, I would not worry about it. have you noticed his beard getting darker than usual? that is a sign of stress.

I agree. Sometimes my leopard gecko will see something that looks like a worm outside her enclosure and she will just strike and dart at the glass.
