:irked:I need a refresher. :irked: Again I feel like a newb :irked:

A friend dropped off a 6-7 inch beautiful bright orange bearded last night. I have not had beardeds for a long long time.

For the time being he is going to reside in a 15 gal, sand slate, etc. Food is not a problem. Crickets, mealies, roaches, greens are covered.

What i can not remember is temps. And if UVb is needed or not.

I will try to get some pics of him/ her posted soon.

85 on the cool side 100 on basking area. UVB IS DEFIANTLY NEEDED

I keep them no different than I would keep a Monitor - 130 degree basking temp, and ambient around 78, give or take a little bit......

130 wouldn't hurt them...as long as that is the surface temp at the basking spot and the tank has a cool end and a good temperature gradient. I kinda doubt they would bask long at 130 but it wouldn't really surprise me.

we use a heat pad and a 100 watt on one side and a 36 inch UVB bulb in a 55 with a reptile hammock under the heat lamp and have no problems our cool side stays around 78 hot side around 85-89 basking areas of 100-105 and a very happy beardie.
