Well the move to the poly tank didnt go as planned. Jur cought a bear down from the sp.dabola/tinkisso.
Have it recovering in a 75 gal added 1 tbls of salt per 10 gal. I plan on re-introducing it once its recovered.

Its looking really stressed atm.smh

The guilty party removed from the poly comm.

The vulture seems to love the new diggs and is really active.

Oh dear never trust polys lol mine use to take down tinfoil barbs and then realise they cudnt swollow most of them so just swam round with them in there mouths. The vulture cat is stunning and adds alot of movement to tank which helps wen polys are resting.

My endli did that with SD dazza lol. What's the temp in the jur's tank jaws?

The vulture looking like a slow lince;) lol jk he looks good spots look darker. Nicecthat he's out and about for you:)

It's not too bad. I feared much worst. In fact, it was a small tiff, not even a fight.

Watch out for the platyrynchos - it looks like a snack for the jur.

Very glad you are liking your vulture again. Means I can poke my head out of the doghouse you have me in.

Great vids. Quality, clarity, content, composition, framing. Enchanting.

Why would you try to re-introduce? Surely you are going to get the same outcome time and time again? What would change?

It isn't "surely you will get the same outcome time and time again". Do you know much about bichirs? I'd reintroduce too. Because sometimes that's all it takes with them. With fish in general. It called establishing a hierarchy. Bichirs have decent teeth, cats being scaless don't fair well against teeth. The cat is fine and will be fine if you ask me even after reintroduction. I wouldn't of took anyone out. Bett it would've worked.

Thx man im back on the vulture cat band wagon.
Oh lord that must have been a site to see them sqimming around with tb's hanging out of their mouths.

Hahah no way you coukd be in my dog house bro. Plus the jur suggestion was a grand slam. Easily one of my favirote fish.

J Just Toby i get your concern but moe pretty much nailed it on the head with his explanation.

Imo polys arent agressive fish. Ive never had one show aggression towards none polys. But again theres no absolutes in this hobby.

Even the earlier statement about the polys swimming around with tinfoil barbs in their mouths - to me doesnt mean aggression just what predators do, eat things they think can fit in there mouths.

The poly that was removed was the exact ine that i was concerned with. She'll periodically nip at other polys sometimes not even making contact just a display of dominance. You can hear the click/snap if her jaws from a few feet away. The jurs behavior is very similar to a polys, just lounging about or perching in the flow. I have no dount that this was a display of dominance had she really intended to cause damage the jur would be in pieces.

Only reason i removed the jur was as a precaution. Polys have crappy eye sight and i disnt want one to be attracted to the smell of blood possibly leading to another bite.

moe214 moe214 i think im gonna keep her seperate for awhile shes getting a little to pushy with the others. Jurs tank is at 77 or 78.
Looks like its starting to show some healing already

I gotta set up another tank for the platy asap hoping to keep the jur fed enough to buy some time
