gonna start another stand and maybe hood combo this week have the frame and everything all worked out but i'm lacking a lil in the asthetics department. i can't think of anything i like yet. so show me u'r greatest stands and show me what has been done. i was thinking maybe some molding around the top and bottom but not sure yet. also not sure if i wanna make it a monotone color or go the light dark route or what. so help me out please.

I like the ADA designed stands. Here an example, and I'm sure these can be DIY'd pretty easily.
Simple, looks nice, and is pretty modern looking, and has alot of space when you open the door.

ADA is Aqua Design Amano. They sell a number of high quality and modernistic looking products for use with Planted Aquariums. The English website is here.
As for the picture, it's just a really basic stand. The bottom is a big door where it's hollow inside, and you can store things. The ones on the website are designed specifically for aquariums, so it's a perfect example or outline if you wish to do this. It's simple, and thats why I like it. There's no fancy woodwork or staining, and thats how I like it.

No problem, but I think that 2-tone would look better depending on what colors or a nice-looking stain color...
