Beautiful Salvini

This Salvini is in my 50gal tank and currently measures 7inches. He has grown well in the 2 1/2 months i have had him and coloured up beautifully. What do you guys think?

Easily one of my favorite cichlids. They're colors are awesome and their jaw structure and bulky build makes them look real bad asses. On top of actually being real bad asses.
Awesome pictures.
I've seen a couple adult male and they're pretty impressive. Not sure why they're usually recommended for smaller tanks.

Who does he share the tank with?

There are various fish in the tank. Young Golden Saum, peacocks, Frontoza, Albino Redtop, Convict and a few others. Salvini is however the boss of the tank.

You know what I found really will color up Salvini's. Shrimp! It can be any shrimp. The shrimp brings out the red in the body. But you have a very beautiful Salvini.

Ya, agreed. I'm sure being from South Africa you already know about Flamingos and their relation with shrimp and the pink coloration it gives them in the wild. I'm a big fan of feeding my fish shrimp and krill also. That's a great lookin' Sal.
