Hello, I just signed up today, but i have been spending endless hours reading MFK ever since I stumbled upon it 2 weeks ago. Gotta say this is an awsome community which made me want to go the monster path myself.
Initially, I was trying to come up with a profitable sideline biz and was thinking of doing an intensive breeding farm for tilapia to sell to local markets (for food). After researching that for a bit, I came accross quite a few articles about profiting from ornamental fish raising. Which in the end brought me to MFK and predatory fish. Now, profiting is the last thing on my mind.
I am the extremist type and Im planning on going all out once I get enough experience. Been doing alot of research, but hearing from ppl with first hand experience is the best.
The part Im having the most trouble with is "which fish can be tanked together?"
Starting Tanks:
100 gal
150 gal
200 - 350 gal tanks (will go larger depending on the needs of the fish)
Fish Most Interested In:
1. Arowana (leaning towards asian)
2. Eels/Eel-Like (Have a friend offering me an Elec Eel and I saw a vid on youtube where a guy had an EE, SH, and Aro living in the same tank. Have doubts about that combo tho.)
3. Rays (curious whether rays and eels will share the bottom?)
4. Snakeheads (What can I say, how can I not be interested!)
5. Lungfish (havnt spent as much time researching these yet, but they seem awsome)
Mostly curious about their aggression towards each other....?
