Hey all, I just set up my honduran milksnakes tank.

Its got a 100w heat bulb, and the temp is 85 on one side and 75 on the other side of the tank.

Inside, I have about a good 5" of cypress mulch bedding, a large waterdish he can completely get in, and a half log hide box.

Now, the cypress bedding feels almost a tad moist to me, is this ok?

Having just picked up a kingsnake, I've read that they do not want any humidity or moisture in their enclosure as they will get "blisters".

Anyone know if this is the same for milksnakes, I've searched the forum here and haven't found exactly what I was looking for.

your, mulch should dry out pretty quick. its always moist out of the bag. what kind of top do you have? if its a screen top it will dry out even faster

As phantoms stated, the cypress bedding will dry out pretty quick. You may want to switch to aspen, as it's less expensive. One of the best things about cypress is it's ability to hold moisture while being less susceptible to molding, which you shouldn't have to worry about since your milksnake won't need high humidity.

if you get cypress mulch at your local nursery, gas station, grocery store, or hardware store it is pretty cheap. a big bag is only 2.99-3.99. they usually have deals like 4 for 10 bucks or something.
