or you can go to your LFS and buy it in the frozen cubes.
Don't waste your money on this scam. Here is what I do for piranhas... Go to the butcher, ask the guy for a whole beef heart. There's always one lying around here. Frozen or not, don't matter. Costs me 7$ CDN (that's like 5$ US) for one big ass heart.
Get home, thaw it if frozen, sit with a cutting pad and your knife and chop away. Get the fat and nasty stuff out, keep the muscle. Chop in strips, then cubes of about 1/2". Place all cubes in ice cube trays, cover properly with plastic wrap or such, put in freezer.
A whole heart fills 5-6 ice cube trays, all for 5$. For 5$ at the LFS you get nothing LOL. Your piranhas will enjoy taking bites off the cubes, and you will enjoy seeing them tear at it...believe me.
Another cheap feeding idea: go to the fish market and buy "eperlan" (that's the french name, don't know english look it up). It's a 4-5" long fish, sold emptied with the head chopped off. I can buy about 20 here for 1.89$...my piranhas dig this, I drop one in the tank and it's gone in about 3 seconds.
Besides pellet food at the LFS, everything else is a rip-off and there's always a cheaper alternative...just gotta look around for it.
