Not been on here for a few month how is everyone. My aro is nice n healthy. Recently moved house n had to move my aro. OMG what a mission. Show do u guys go about catching ur aros when you move them. I must have tried for over an hour with a net n no joy. In the end I found a carp weigh sling to be the easiest and safest way. No fin damage no scale damage jus a Lil scratched on top of head where he tried leaping out n bashed the top of tank. He's much happier in his new home he has plenty of sunlight n a large window to look out of. Eating well n head healing really fast. I'll upload pics later.

I had the same prob a week ago moving my arrow I argree what a nightmare I found the best way is to use a carp landing net but not to have it triangle shaped but to use it like a sling closing it up around him and holding shut , I then placed the net with him in into a big poly box full of tankwster and put damp towel over it (then somethin realy heavy on top lol ) putting him back in the tank was pretty straight forward as he was already in the net settled down , mine too had slight damage to top of head but is on the mend after a dose or two of melafix

Yeah I used some salt coz it was all I had to hand. Its healing up nicely ill post pics once I get home. He's easily 20 to 24 inches long. Also I have noticed now that he is in a busy room as opposed to the old room he was in which only I went in he has calmed down an awful lot n seems to be much happier

Catching a silver aro at 16" was my toughest challege. Every time it jump I would get a mini heart attack. Also facing it near the window will make your tank green. Just a friendly advice :D

My tank went green just from it being under the window with light shining through gaps in the hood , my arrows a nightmare jumps a lot these days he's about 18/19" pure power , the jumpin only started realy when he hit 10"

He's never really been a jumpy aro my old one was he always jumped but mine is roughly 2 ft n never really done it. I know that it could cause algae but the sun light I though would help bring out the colour in him he has nice red colours in his fins. Also I think no light is as good as natural light. I can scrub algae off lol
