My tank has been up and running for a bit over a year. Its a mixed reef with mostly LPS and several fish. Some HA started gettin all over due to my phosphates. Found my phosphate issue (dead chaeto in sump)...fixed that. I am also running kalkwasser and GFO. So, I need to remove the existing hair algae. Ive been reading tons of success stories about h2o2 and full tank dosing. I am in my 3rd day and am noticing it starting to kill the algae. I am dosing 2ml's per 10gallons. Anyone else doing this?

Most curious...I'm hearing more and more of home-remedy stuff. The vodka trick was the one that floored me though! lol. Peroxide is interesting. Can't wait to hear how it turns out.

Check reef2reef and reefcentral...tons of threads. I am on my 3rd day and am definitely noticing a difference. I think tomorrow morning will be even better. Defintely working and all corals and fish are in great shape. I am only dosing 1ml per 10gals. I could probably push the envelope but I am afraid. this dosage is working better than I expected.

On day 5 and starting to notice some significant algae die-off. ALmost all sand is completely white and clean. The HA is now stringy and almost falling off the rock. Gonna continue for a few more days. May even consider a weekly dosing for maintenance. All occupants, coral and fish, are in great health.

I am quite sure it can be done. I have read it cant be more that 3ml's per 10 gallons. Though it may be lower. I have also read that BN pleco's are very susceptible to peroxide dosing.
