I know I'm no photographer.. but what amazed me most was how they all at first didn't seem to know what to do with all the room now! It was very rewarding to see them "roam" around the pool hesitant earlier today at first, and now swiftly and graceful.

atm the stock is 6 gar 2 retic rays and a 24" spiney eel. our cats will be going in tomorrow, and 2 more gar by the end of the week will be joining the herd. and we also have another ray recovering that will go in likely in the next week or 2.

atm all the bio media is floating in the pool (scrubbies) and the pool pump it came with as well as a mag 9.5 w/ sponge are circulating the water while we do the finishing touches on a DIY tower. 6x 250 watt aqueons are heating it and a 1k should be here by the end of the week.

Oh yeah.. It's a 10' diam 30" deep intex pool. roughly 1k gallons.

Pool is looking good Amy. What's the plan for decorating?

I'd keep an eye out when the big trops arrive. I've had the gators puncture holes in a 800 gal pool I had them in at one time. Not sure how thick the liner is but something to watch for.

Not to crazy on decor but I wanna put some sunken planters in the center w/ some hearty stuff like what I have set-up in the aba's tank for them to hide/prowl in as well as for the feeders to congrigate. and a few big but low peice of DW for the eel and others to take refuge in. Its seemed to work thus far in raising them in other tanks so why fix something thats not broken?

def some concern w/ the liner being too thin but I'm hopeing we won't have to invest in a 45mil ( but obviousely will if need be) I'm hoping by focusing the majority of "hide/predation" spots to the center and having open water around the edges ect it will keep strikes/teeth inwards vs outwards. I also hope to keep feedings of pellets ect focused away from the edges. with young kids ect I just don't feel the need in any form or fashion to hand-feed or otherwise encourage close feeding interaction to begin with, so it makes this choice pretty easy to focus on, and hopefully save the liner from big teeth.

The trops also have a rep for aggression why I pushed to get everyone settled before next week, so hopefully they will be last into the set-up... and keep to themselves better... also trying to build up a feeder school to keep them busy for awhile until everyone can settle in. Just trying to prep for as smooth an intigration as possible.

I had no idea how much of a smile it would put on me today to see them react the way they did. Best Mother's Day gift ever ( hubby did most the heavy lifting, I just netted everyone) darn male retic once again tried to tag me!
