I bought this GT in October from pretty much being killed at my LFS. He was beating up bad and had first stages of HITH. I have since then Nursed him back to health, with a Variety Diet and 50% water changes. Since October he got beat up on night bad by my CON. Since then they have been seperated. My questions are, will his top fins ever fully grow back? and What can I do to speed up the healing process and growth rate. This to be my Next Male GT in Line since my Monster Male passed on me a couple of months ago. I take alot of pride in this guy and I hope to get him back to Full strength. He has nice body color but his fins are still damaged. Here are some pics.NOTE: His after pics I could not get him to stay still, SO these pics are not the best. PLease any advice would be deeply appreciated. thanks.

Im not done yet. Im really hoping to turn this guy around. These pics do not do justice. He has really good body color but Just need his fins to grow back to full health. If only I could get him to be still when I take a pic. I will repost more pics in another three months.

Hes looking good! I see alot of GTs at th LFS like that or starven to death. Im contmplating doing this to a Festae, Im just not sure if I can a big enough tank for him and my GT or a seperate tan altogether.

thnks man, If only I could get his fins back to full health with some nice trailers.
ANybody think Melafix could help?

I do not believe that his fins, at least in the places where they look shorn away, will get much better than they are already. Good job, in any case.

When there is damage to the dorsal "spines" they do not grow back. The webbing between MAY grow back. I had that happen to a buttikoferi

I didn't see this post before I replyed to your post in the media section. I don't think the dorsal will regenerate, usually damage to the dorsal rays don't grow back or at best it will take a very long time and may always look "chunked". Over all he looks pretty good for always getting the crap kicked out of him. Some fish that are beaten and harresed when young grow to be very aggressive towards tank mates once they realize they are big enough to do the beating.
