My African Cichlid 55 gallon needed mroe rockwork, so today i took a trip down to a stone/rock supplier for builders and landscapers. They had a vast selection of slate, river stones, sandstone and many shapes and sizes. It was only .30 cents a LB for most rock. great deal! I picked out some sandstone and rinsed it off under a hose for a good 15 minutes. here is the before and after. how do ya like it?

the cloudiness is from WC in each pic

Lookin good. Very natural looking. I find that if you plan where to place the rocks it tends not to look as well as just tossing them in there.

thx! i was trying for the natural look and i tried to make sure there were caves without it looking too mapped out

Looks good, the sand and gravel company is definetly a good place to save money. There prices are about 1/10 that of the LFS

yeah, like i said to my wife, all that rock would've been well over 100 at a lfs. probably closer to 150. i got all the added rock in the after pic for 17 bucks including tax. plus, i got to hand pick from huge bins so it wasn't a handful like at the lfs
