hello, im 13 and i am interested in fly fishing i can cast but i need a smaller rod any ideas i have 150$ and am willing to save a little more

the best starting rod you can get is a 6 or 7 weight. large outdoor stores like bass pro shops and cabelas will sell setups including the rod, line, backing, and reel for around 100-120. great beginner rod, not too big for panfish and not garenteed to snap on fish like trout and pike, though i's still prefer an 8 for them

i think i might get the Cabela's LSi/Prestige Premier Fly Combo or a orvis

id go for the orvis.

sage also makes really nice gear. most of the time...you get what you pay for.
