Hi all,

Im new to this forum and i am interested in mean, aggressive fish........so far this forum has lots of thread about them and thought that u guys can help me out.

I live in australia and just got a 3FOOT tank for FREE!! Im interested in lookin after piranhas but dont know which one are agressive or suitable for my tank???

Any help is appreciated, thanks alot.......if theres any other feisty fish u guys may reccomend please tell me.

Cheers,
Kogainei

What are the dimensions of the tank. A three foot long tank is almost to small of a tank to hold a shoal of pygos for their entire life so you would have to upgrade. You might be able to keep like 3 rbps in there for a while with the right amount of filtration. Otherwise you could look into keeping a serra in there for a lot longer. These would include your rhoms, brandit, irritans, sanchezi, and compressus. I personally like the look of the black diamond rhom but I guess that is all up to you.
Good luck

Thanks for the reply man,

The dimensions are 100cm long(horizontal)x37cm high(vertical)x30cm(sides)

Hrrmmmmm.....can u please show me the pics of these fish and are piranhas legal in australia?

Is there any small ones that i can look after in a group of 3-5?

Cheers,
kogainei

Ya you can check them out at aquascapeonline.com. They have pretty much any type of species of piranha you could want. I dont know if ps are legal in australia and if aquascape ships overseas but they have the best prices and customer service that I have found in the U.S. You could keep a group of 3 or 4 red bellies or caribe in there if you wanted to. Just would have to leave plenty of swimming space once they get bigger and up the filtration a lil bit. Where do u live in Australia man I would love to come study there for a summer or something. Why dont u go saltwater, there are a ton of aggressive fish in saltwater that would probably be easier for you to get than piranhas. But its whatever you wanna do I guess. Pm me if you got any more questions

hey man,

Thanks again for the reply.......i live in Western Australia, Perth.

Yeah u should come visit Aus. its great.
Hrrmmmmm i dont think i will go to Saltwater, stick with fresh coz its easier.
I was thinking of getting piranhas but too much trouble and looking for a aggresive fish but so hard to find the right one.
Was thinking of a scool of 10-15 male convicts? what do u/guys think?
