I have 4 rbp about 2-3" in a tank with a fluval 105 canister filter running 24 hours is this sufficient for the moment i have added plenty of plants for them to hide because i heard that piranha dont like the light to much? i am quite unsure because i am new to piranha keeping they seem to be fin and tail nipping regulary is this due to underfeeding i currntly feed them about 4 chopped up whitebait minnows every day is this overfeeding??
Responses would be welcome as i am a total begginer with rbp's thanks

they will always bite each other no way to stop them from doing it. i had 12 rbp in a 125 gal and kept goldfish in their at all times 6 months later i had 4 big ones.u can expect the same they will cannabalis each other its their nature.

the small tank isnt helping matters. if they had more room they proboably would cut down some on the fin nipping and they will outgrow that tank soon or kill each other due to small quarters.

yea i am aware they will need more space soon would something like a 75g tank be sufficient to keep 4 for life? and would you say i am overfeeding?
thanks for the help ppl much appreciated :headbang2

as i am thinking about rbp's in my 750 gal tank, are you aware of any problems of putting same size gar and tin foils in there with them without fin nipping ?

rbp should not be with other fish,ALMOST ALWAYS death will occure! i would say a 75 is a little small for 4 rbp i would go with a 125 and it wouldnt look so crowded
