I am looking to get a p.bass for the next tank I get and I have a few questions?

1. What would be it's growth rate it its feeding on mostly pellets but about once a week some shrimp or some other foods

2.For a beginner what would be the best species to go with?

3. Would it do good with my two oscars?

I have done research but they all say something diffrent. I need some advice from people with hands on expience.

they grow fast! and they will be fine with your oscars just make sure the pb are not small enough that the oscars will eat them.
how big of tank are you going to be putting them in?

I am putting it in a 90 gallon for about a year untill I can get the money to get a bigger tank. For the bigger tank I was thinking a 125g - 150g for just those three

Another question? When do they start thickening out? From what I've noticed is that they get long before they get long and tall. Is that true? If so what age would that happen?

150g is too small for adult cichla.
YOu need to go atleast 200g+.
ANd cichla and oscars go great together.

a 150 will be good for those 3 id up garde tho later just cause theyll get huge eventually.

Get an Orino, IMO and the opinions of many others they are the slower growing species of peacock bass and will buy you some time for that upgrade. And with you oscars the Orino should do fine, cause Orinos are no push overs haha. But really the best peacock bass for a beginner are cheap peacock bass, just cause you don't wanna start off with something expensive and make a mistake which kills the bass.
