Im looking to get a baitcasting setup. ive only used one a few times so i want to get a fair priced one thats not going to fall apart on me. looking to spend around 50 bucks cause a got a gift card to bass pro for that amount. i searched a little and found this http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...r=51500&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults i like that it is left handed cause thats what i use on my spinning rod. anyone used it before?

Looks like you found some good deals, the picture of the reel looks like a right hand one...
I look for retrieve rate, like 6.1:1 for example is really fast and the amount of bearings it has, bearings help it stay smooth and survive longer (at least in saltwater where i fish). Also see what kind of anti reverse it has, i like it to stop when i let go or on a strike.

I personally prefer reels like this : http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...1_44657_100001001_100000000_100001000_100-1-1

maybe not that exact one, but that style, i think it gives more control, and i don't like the anti backlash gimmicks. Also it has instant anti reverse. To me best of all is a Penn conventional, but it depends on what you are doing :D

those might not be best for they are heavier setup. Also they have alot of nice rod reel combos cheap at basspro now.

the picture is right hanmded but it has a left handed model.

thanks for the imput, i went to bass pro today talked to the guy there he pointed out some reels. so i got this http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...=100138&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults
its orignally 150 but on sale for 40 so i jumped one it. 6.3:1 gear ratio and 10 ball bearings. also feel pretty smooth. only bad thing is its right handed but the guy there said right handed was better. so im going to use it for a little see if i like it, if not ill bring it back

nice! that looks like a great reel, killer deal too
