Hi i was just thinking about how breeding fish or fish ready to breed typically become more aggressive... although this may not be completely true, i was wondering if it has any credibility to it? ARe fish ready to breed more aggressive then usual? I am thinking this becuase of my EBJD, and how mellow of a fish he is... never harass's any tankmates, not even a gourami that it live swith... if anything my EBJD breaks up fights other tankmates may have.... I recently introduced 2 JD(hopefully both female) and was wondering since my EBJD is so friendly/nice to all fish if he will even ever mate... This fish could live with a school of tetra's for sure.... anyone ever experience a fish like this? can a friendly fish mate and stay very friendly? I hope so...
I hope he goes into breeding with the JD, so i can successfully grow out some BGJD's!!.. then from there breed him agian with the babies so i can have 50% EBJD fry for sale!

Any pointers, questions, comments, advice, stories, anything, please just reply!
thanks all MFK'ers

Usually cichlids will show some aggresion when breeding.Whats important is he doesnt back down or turn and flee when challenged by a ready to breed female. If that happens you may need to separate them for a few weeks then try again.
