I know this is a question that most likely has been answered before, but I'm curious to know how long BB can thrive without water (aerobic & anaerobic)?

not expert, but probably until it drys out...then u screwed.....

approx. 15 min.

Okay, so does this go for both aerobic and anaerobic? I would think anaerobic would be able to thrive longer seeing as how it does require o2 to live anyway.

While I do not have the exact scientific answer for this I would this as long as the anaerobic is wet it would be OK for a while.

Aerobic would have a better chance a survival on a moist bio ball in a wet dry than it would in a cannister perhaps. I have no proof of this but, just my thoughts.

I had a fluidized sand filter once and it goes anaorobic pretty darn FAST. I was dealing with water issues for quite a while just from a 17 minute power outtage.
