I have kept them a few times. The most I had at 1 time was 3. They are a schooling fish. Big appetites but I did not witness any aggression. When resting, they would generally lay side by side like a row of parked cars. Very beautiful fish. I sold them on because my tank was getting too crowded. But I would consider re-stocking my tank to get some more in the future.
I was told by someone else that theirs only got to 15cm fully grown and was very surprised by this seeing that I have read that they get to 38cm in the wild. The same person also said I would need 6ft tank for them, seems a little crazy needing a 6ft tank for a 15cm fish.
They can be very fast, so not sure if thats why they need the space. The ones I had, easily exceeded 15cm. You usually buy them in the 10-15cm range here.
