Berries anyone

Berries are coming on pretty well down here, too. I picked these Huckleberries in the woods behind my house yesterday.

That is alot of hucks-What do you do with them?

Most years the critters eat the Huckleberries up as soon as they are ripe, but this year there are so many that they are only trimming the outsides of the bushes! There are also Black Hucks, Wild Blueberries, and Serviceberries out there if you look for them.

We cooked them down with some sugar and a splash of rum. So far we've had it with cheese on french bread. There's still some left, I want to try it on pork chops.

You've been posting a lot of great Alaska photos lately, you must of gotten a new camera :)

That certainly sounds like a tasty treat...Never had any that way before...
I bet it would taste good with pork-Just about anyway one decided to cook it....I gonna have to go and pick berries now damnit...

I always manage to post a ton of pics-I got a new editing program that I have been playing around with lately is all...I have had the same camera since I have been a mamber here-Just getting to know it a bit better..
