recently started a fish room with plan on adding more tanks close to 30 tanks ranging from 125 down and want to run the sponge filters whys a good air pump that will be strong enough to run around 30 tanks and not break the bank

Check with the people over at Jehmco they have a wide range of pumps and will help you pick the right one. You can find Jehmco online. We have a pile of tanks and I finally went with a regenerative blower best move I ever made. If you ask the people at Jehmco they will also advice you on how to set up your air system.
