best algae eater for a planted tank??

i was wondering what the best algae eater for a planted tank?? i have a 29 gallon Bio-cube W/ some rotala Indica and some other plants.

i want no more that 3 algae eaters in the tank. so 1 to 3 algae eaters that will keep the tank fairly clean.

Oci cats or True Flying Foxes... Wont eat your plants... Plecos swim reckless and can mess up yoiur tank. Chinese algae eaters eat plants... Ive even done snails. Then did somethin stupid and bought 8 CLs snails all gone lol... But def OCI cats or Flying foxes they both swim super fast lol they are small and crazy and love eating algae

I would disagree with either of those above mentioned fish. The best for a planted tank would be either otos or Siamese algae eaters.

Siamese algae eaters dont only eat algae they eat slim coat off of walls and wen they get older they attack your fish trying to eat their slim coat... They get aggresive as they get older... You will find a lot of leaves with holes in them... I wouldnt use Chinese or Siamese... As for OCi or Otos. Ofcourse they are the best... Flying fox is a lil harder to get... But they do a great job too...Goodluck bro... I have a Orange Algae eater in with my ATF and PAYARA and he chases them both...

yup I bought 4 one had a heart attack as soon as i opened the bag lol... but the 3 keep my planted tank nice... Not too expesive either got mine from petsmart...along with a blue mystery snail thats dying form the CLs attacking it lol..

You are confused. Flying foxes get aggressive, and are poor algae eaters. True Siamese algae eaters are very good algae eaters, and are not nearly as aggressive as flying foxes.

Yes i can second that one. TSAE work the best. Get them in groups... they are much more happy with 2+ and kinda do coop cleaning I also think snail will eat black algae that most skip on.

what is a "Oci" cat??? i haven't heard of that one before. what about Siamensis algae eaters???
