putting one together would be cheaper .Im looking for easy set up. If you have any input on the products to use to set up myself I would appreciate it.

I like the Red Sea but yeah, they are crazy expensive. really hard to upgrade anything. near impossible to add a sump, larger skimmer, better lighting, etc.

I would like to do a fowlr and then add coral later on. tank size I,m thinking approx. 50 gallons. I live in upstate ny where pet shops are rare.

Red Sea max would probably be your best bet for that size. Start looking on Craigslist. I've found the for between $300 and $400 in NY
