We all know that there is a big discussion between what foods have the best ingredient lists to feed our fish. From NLS to Northfin, and now Southern Delight as a competitor, they all have a great list of premium ingredients.

But what about the worst? Especially from some well known brands? Thought it would be interesting to share this list I stumbled upon from Marineland (who's not known for their foods) as it has over 7 fillers and the first ingredient being one. Correct me if Im wrong...
Marineland Color-Enhancing Cichlid Pellets
"Wheat Flour, Dried Anchovy, Condensed Fish Protein Digest (sourced from Cod, Haddock, Halibut, Herring, Pollack, Mackerel, Whiting, Red Fish), Wheat Gluten, Corn Gluten, Potato Protein, Shrimp Meal, Wheat Germ Meal, Dried Yeast, Feeding Oat Meal, Dehulled Soybean Meal, Corn Starch, Monobasic Calcium Phosphate, Soybean Oil, Algae Meal, Lecithin, L-Lysine Monohydrochloride, Yeast Extract, Riboflavin-5-Phosphate (source of Vitamin B2), Ascorbic Acid (source of Vitamin C), Inositol, A-Tocopherol Acetate (source of Vitamin E), L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (Stabilized Vitamin C), Niacin, D-Calcium Pantothenate, Thiamine Mononitrate (source of Vitamin B1), Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (source of Vitamin B6), Vitamin A Palmitate (source of Vitamin A), Folic Acid, Menadione, Sodium Bisulfite Complex (source of Vitamin K), Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Cholecalciferol (source of Vitamin D3), Manganese Sulfate, Zinc Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, Cobalt Acetate. Added Color: Beta-carotene, Annatto Extract, Yellow 5 Lake, Iron Oxide Red, Canthaxanthin, Blue 2 Lake. Ethoxyquin and Citric Acid (both as preservatives)."

I was shocked to see such an ingredient list when the Petsmart Associate said this is the best food they carry to another customer...lol
I remember when they carried Hikari cichlid bio-gold and that arguably was much better than this.
Feel free to share your opinions on the best and worst as this should be an OPINION topic, and not an argument about what is the best based on facts, etc.

Staring with me, NLS and YFS have proven to be very effective for my fish and have great natural ingredients.
Particularly the finicky fish formula from NLS as it contains the New Zealand Mussel so not only does it have a great list of ingredients, its well accepted too :)
And thats another big issue in regards to some of the "best fish foods" today is whether or not your fish will eat it with or without training.
And you probably can tell what I now think is the worst ;)

I remember some MFK members are working in fish food industry, those guys listed which is garbage and which is not. I'm looking forward to this.

Forgot to add..
Of course there are the gimmicky "head-boosting" "humpy head" flowerhorn foods out there which are probably the worst since they most likely carry hormones and can cause bloat, but aside from these, what else have you seen in ingredients MFK?

BTW, I like hikari, but only their Bio-Gold formula (even though it has MSG)
The cichlid gold has corn starch/flakes as well as Massivore + it has Soybean Meal.
Great alternative to massivore for me is YFS Carnivore sticks. No soybean, plus natural ingredients and high protein

There is also Xtreme, haven't done much research on that brand...
