So I can't reach that far into one of my tanks due to it being tall and on a stand, and I frequently have to pull detritus from some intake grates far back in it.

What is the best aquarium grabber out there? I need something that can really grip on some moss. Imagine there was like, an iceburg made of moss and I had to grab it and pull it out of an impeller by the tip of said iceburg. What would you use?

Looking to extend my grip to keep my flow strong. Not a euphemism. Little plastic aquarium trade things not tough enough.

Thanks!

They do sell aquatic plant grabbers and trimmers in PETCO and petsmart

I have a friend that is in a wheelchair and he has a stainless steel grabber that can pick up anything from a quarter to a can of soda. I don't know the brand, but you might be able to find one at an online store for handicap accessibility.

I have a Handy Grab made by H2O Life that works pretty well. It was $11.00 at my LFS.

You could always train some sort of duck, or better still a muskrat or otter.

Oh man that'd be great but I think most of those would outgrow my tank! 8P

Thanks for the advice, all! Couldn't hope for a better response. I'll definitely be going to the Home Depot after work today and I'll do some research into tools used for personal accessibility options. That sounds pretty solid.

^This. they make different models & types of grippers on the ends. anyplace that sells wheelchairs. at some drugstores, but not much mechanical selection there. some lock, some don't, etc.
I got some after surgery when I had to wear a turtle-shell cast :-o They're real handy for lots of things, including in-tank grabbing. with one fish, it saves me from bites. I got tired of fending him off just to grab something in tank..
...plus I torment ppl with them for an occasional laugh.
