Best Automatic Heater ???

Hey guys, I have a 75G Planted Piranha Tank.

I'm looking for a heater that will switch on and off automatically to maintain the temperature of the tank.


Does anyone know any good Makes/Models ?

I used to have piranhas and I wouldn't get a glass heater.
I would recommend a unbreakable one like this...

I don't like the fact that the Stealths lack an indicator light.

I have purchased the Rena smart heater (inline) but it is not automatic which is what I'm looking for, to safeguard while I'm away.

Stealth Marine and Ebo Jager seem to be the most preferred

I don't like the fact that there is no indication light on the stealth marine's either. How do you know when they are on ?

The Ebo Jager 250W seems to be the way to go. Just wish it had a remote control or LCD screen on it or something cool like that LOL

what do you mean by automatic? the rena heaters turn themselves on and off.

Since when is the Rena Smartheater an inline heater? This is an inline heater:

It is what I would recommend if you are using a canister or sump. I've never used it but would definitely try it on a future tank when I need another heater. The temperature distribution would be better and you wouldn't risk it burning your fish or your fish breaking the heater.
