OH...IO
I'm trying to decide between dark blue and black. The acrylic I'm getting can be ordered either way and I'm looking for opinions on which will bring out the colors of the fish. Does anyone have examples of either they would like to share?

I like black because it adds contrast to any colored fish. Plus, its not as distracting as a blue or some of these gaudy backgrounds to see in your lfs.

You can get some cool effects depending on the color you choose. I put a jet black dogface puffer in a tank with a black background and if you stood a little off to the side, all you could see was a pair of bright yellow eyes moving around the tank.

Depends on what fish(s) you'll be keeping?.... different colored backgrounds have different effects on certain fish. either way, Blue or Black are both good colors! :headbang2

Black. I paint the backs of my glass tanks black also. I hate taping backgrounds on.

I prefer black.

it depends on the fish, but blue or black for me as well :)

just to give you an idea, for asian arowanas, its best to use black for reds and blue for golds so it depends on what color the fish your getting is.. usually black looks nice if you fish are red :)
