best beginner anemone for 12 gallon nano

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
maybe a condy but other than that not much your light isnt the best I would get a PC bulb set up first before you consider a anemone not to mention they get fairly large

i would say bubble tip if you upgrade your lighting

None for now, as they aren't good for new setups, and most require good lighting, and your supposed to have an established tank for them. If you upgrade your lighting in the future, then I think you would have a better success. My guess is you want to get one for a clownfish (there are 28 different species), and usually the most logical choice for most of them is the bubbletip, but however that would be down the road. I bought a condy thats doing unusually well, but I also got it because I have a larger tank for it when the time comes, as well as the fact that if I screw it up it wasn't very expensive and they are hardier than most (although I should of had my tank more established in the first place). If I were you I would start with a FOWLR and build and research from there, esp. seeing how a clown doesn't need an anemone to do well, if that is what you are looking at it for.

pcs do not make very good lighting for anemones. Halides or T5's and VHOs will be the only options with enough intensity to keep nems long term. Let the tank sit for around a year, and who knows by then you may want a larger tank anyways. If thats the case, i would get proper lighting from the get go and you shouldnt have any upgrade worries.
