What would be the best bio media, considering cost, for me to use for a 1000+ gallon outdoor pool pond? Bio balls? Tons of cut up straws? Scrubbies?

It will not be heavily stocked, this first year I will only have 2-3 fish that can possibly hit 12"+ in there along with 5-7 dithers. The mechanical filtration will likely be two of the pool filters, or just one of them, along with some cloth that I'll be placing over the opening to prevent any smaller fish from getting sucked in by the pump.

How much media will I need?

ya pot scrubbies $1 for 6 :D

Bio Bale is what most reccomend for pond equipemnt. Its got tons of surface area.

i used Pot scrubbies on top and have lava rock on bottom, lol just had the rock so i thoght i would use it, its cheap but a pain to rince. bc u will need to rince it alot
