Right now I have 2 Trays of Bio Max in my FX5 with no problems, but I was wondering what is the best Bio media because I just want to be safe with my Overstocked 150.

I have heard that Eheim Ehfi Substrat Pro is the best so I was thinking of switching to this because I think I could get more of this into my FX5 then the Biomax. What do you guys think? or should I say with the biomax?

In terms of surface area, I believe matrix has the highest even moreso than efisub pro as indicated on the boxes

oh and I now when switching out bio media just do one tray at a time... :D

i would go with the eheim best bet

does matrix actually convert nitrate or do they just say that? I use Prime so I know matrix is made by a good company...

Cell-pore has the highest surface area/gallon on the market. However, it clogs fast. Eheim's Ehfisubstrat, and Ehfisubstrat pro both have 18,300 sq. ft./gallon. Seachem's Matrix has 170 sq. ft./gallon. Substrat pro is better for keeping the water flowing well.

Thanks for the info wild fire:ROFL::D
