Hi all,

I was wanting a good bottom dweller that would eat food from the bottom of the tank. Right now I have a 7" inch aro and medium size pleco. Planning to add another aro as well, but need a bottom dweller to eat the fallen food since my aro does not like to eat from the bottom. Thanks in advance for any response.

Forgot to mention that I also have a Synodontis Euptera. He is an african threadfin catfish....

ExoticGreen- thanks for the advice... not a fan of clown loaches because they need to thrive with at least 4 buddies. I will look into the Bichirs.

Anyone else with suggestions? Prefer exotic looking fishes. Thanks

A four line cat.

I agree with smitty. A 4 line cat (or Pimodelus blochii I believe) is your best bet. Mine is ~11-12 inches of appetite. He knows his place because the cichlids don't let themselves be pushed around. He also eats anything that falls to the bottom of the tank, even pieces of plant based foods for my other fish. Let me know if you have any questions about observed behavior.

a good looking bottom feeder that would looks spectacular in that's tank even more so if you have good lighting is a tig catfish!

Thanks for all the help guys... I like the look of the tig cat but they seem to get really big. Going to check my LFS for the 4 line cat. Thanks again.
