Best brand of pellets, for cichlids

I'd call NLS and Northfin tied at the top. They both have tons of different varieties, so regardless of what species you're talking about, they have something that fits the bill. If you have omnivorous or carnivorous species, Fluval Bug Bites are tied for me as a third top spot food (obviously not for herbivores).
New life spectrum is widely considered the "best" because it has high quality ingredients and lacks some of the fillers that most other brands have like ethoxyuquin. For what it's worth, I have also used various Hikari foods for the last 20 years or so, and have had good results. I will say that NLS Hex shield is amazing stuff for american cichlids, helps combat hexamita, which is one of the most common problems you will encounter with large cichlids.
