So, i've been reading threads on here now for like a year but now i finally have a question.
What is the best canister filter that puts out around 1500-2500l/h? It will be used in conjuncton withh the two filter boxes on each end of the tank so it will only have to perform biologial filteration with no mech media inside. Ideally lowest wattage possible.
Any Ideas?

how about the fx5 that will give you a bit exstra on top of the tunover you'r after? iv had 2. one is 5 yrs old now and its never failed me and needed no new parts ....yet!!!
ps thats rated at 48 wat

If you want a canister you can't do better then the fx5..:grinyes: They were first made for small pond filters then changed for more indoor use. I have one on my electric cat tank and one on my alligator snapping turtle tank both tanks are always clean.:nilly:

If you want low power consumption look into an eheim 2262 or 2260, they are spendy but worth it. Other member have eheims that are 20 years old and still going strong.

I've just been checking out eheim 2260/2262 but i cant really find any secondhand. Secondhand is a must, i like the rena xp4 or eheim 2280. Have thought about an fx5 but i love eheim professionals got a 2224 and im bidding on another one one ebay. Im gonna do some looking at fx5's or xp4's but mainly fx5's. Cheers for the advice you lot :)

After reading threads about fx5's vs eheims and the experience i have had with my first canister filter (eheim 2224) i will deffinatly be choosing eheims for all my tanks. I get them seondhand so i never have to worry about the price as a 2224 generally will set me back 20-35 quid. Im looking for 2260/2262's but Cheers for the advice tho.
