best canister for Coralife 18w TT?

ok im debating whether i go Rena XP3 or Fluval FX5. I already have an fx5 but the flowrate seems to be too high for the sterilizer...the only difference is $4... which should I go? looking to buy another canister anyway. I never had rena so not sure...but from seeing the flowrate, definitely want to go rena though its $4 more... lmk guys.
 
Does the UV sterilizer have a required flow rate, minumum or maximum?
 
yeah it just says up to 400 gallon for the 18w. im assuming 400 is maximum at efficiency.. I notice the XP4 is only 450gph so I might change it up to the XP4. Id get the fx5 but im looking for something that will work efficiently for the sterilizer. anyone got good reviews on Renas?
 
I like the rena XP3s only canister I use(7 of them). Realize the actual flow rate is much less then posted. The XP3 has an actual flow rate of around 190 gph.
 
so XP4 should be no problem then correct?
if xp3 is 190gph then xp4 should be around 250 yea?
 
The 2217 is a very good biofilter and has good affordable price.

Great choice and the flow will absolutely make sure your water is sterilized :)
