Hey Everybody,

Slowly converting my 72 gallon bowfront tank, from salt to fresh. I was think of having some fish for the bottom of the tank like a cat fish of some kind. The only cats I had were pictus and some cories... I like pictus however I wonder what other cats are outhier for my 72. Also if you have any ideas of tank mates for the cat please let me know as I don't know what to stock this tank. I like fish that are more like preds...

Also incase your wondering about my filteration I will be running my 33 gallon sump...should be enough filteration as I have a filter sock as well as it is being filled with 5 gallons of pond matrix which is equivalent for a tank of 2000 gallons!!!!

Thanks For Your In Put!!!!

Also thier is another tank in the general aquaria discussion if you would like to look at and leave suggestions for fish stock as It is my aunts...

I'm fighting myseld with this one...now thinking of some kind of armored catfish with a shoal of exodons. I've heard numerous people being able to keep catfish with exodons despite thier aggresiveness. Heard pictus to have been used with them as they hide during the day and come out at night...however Id rather be safe with an armored cat any suggestions? Don't about the bullhead...I will end up getting a larger tank but it will most likely be for rays.

Thanks for your input

These are probably not a good choice for MONSTER tanks but I got some RED VENEZUELAN SAILFIN CORYS a while ago. I was suspicious that they were dyed or something as I had never seen a red cory before and They look nothing like the LAZER type Corys in their color pattern. That was several months ago. They are even more red now! They are slow growers even for a Cory but they are absolutely fascinating when in a group of six as they seem to go everywhere together. They look very playful in groups. They live in a self-perpetuating colony of Celestial Pearl Danios. The CPD's continue to lay, hatch and grow-out babies in spite of the cory's presence. Before adding the Corys about six babies survived month(so yeah, thousands were being eaten as eggs and fry by their parents). After adding the Corys, there has been no change in the average number of fry reaching juvi. stage.

I can not recommend these enough!!!

irwini cats get big but grow slow as hell, so one would be good for quite a long time in there. i personally like spotted raphael cats better than the stripped ones but both are cool.

i did a search of these corys even tho i'm not a fan of corys, these things are BOSS!!

It would be cool to have an active catfish, however i don't think they are active armored catfish. I will look at the cories seem cool, however maybe a problem with exodons....could give them a shot if thier not expensive.

There are not many good pictures of them online. I found this one. It does not do the fish justice. I will try to get pictures of mine.
