Hey jw what is the best n one of the more cheaper ways to feed large catfish most of mine are a foot to two feet in long n my shovlenose eats like you wouldent beleave plus I herd stricktly gold fish are not good for the digestive system

Frozen prawn works pretty well and you can get it cheap at the grocery store.

For my big cats I would feed them king salmon an trout that I would catch in New York and if I ran out of it before I went back to New York in October I would just go down the pond and catch a bunch of pan fish cut them up freeze them and then just take some out as need and all my fish stayed really fat and healthy same thing I've done with all my predatory fish but I also feed massivore and for those that won't take massivore I just stuff it in there fish fillets

cold water fish are very bad for tropical catfish, too fatty... read the links that were posted above and be enlightened my friends.

Agree with Justarn (if speaking of a very large portion of the diet).

Crustacean diet is great if one efficiently mitigates the bad thiaminase effects.

Yea ive been told prawns n other small fish

I have been feeding mine talapia from the store salmon too ive even givin them lobster lol but my tsc can eat 2 full sized lobsters to him self but some of my predatory fish have gotten pre mean from going to live fish to peaces of meat mainly my gar and my Snakehead so I guess I should of asked what would be the better live food

I have a 2' RTC and his diet mainly consists of Hikari massivore pellets, fish fillets, and varying crustaceans. Catfish are definitely NOT picky when It comes to food.
